2pc set Cylinder seal impression with seal
SIZE: 3 1/8" wide x 1 5/8" tall
The sun-god, whose rays spring from his shoulders, holds aloft his emblem, the saw, as he rises between two mountains. Ea, god of the sweet underground waters (indicated by the flowing waters), steps over a rising bull and holds a bird in his hands.
His Janus-headed attendant, Usmu, stands behind. On the mountains, to the left, stands a winged-goddess of war, perhaps Ishtar, shown full faced, carrying quivers on her back and an object (a date-cluster) in her hand.
The tree growing from the mountain is a symbol of fertility. Another god, perhaps Ninurta, advances with a bow in hand, followed by a roaring lion.
Greenstone cylinder seal. A hunting god (full-face) has a bow and an arrow (?) over his shoulder; a quiver with tassel attached hangs on his back. On the left hand mountain stands a small tree and Ishtar (full-face) who is winged and armed with weapons including an axe and a mace rising from her shoulders. She is holding a bush-like object, probably a bunch of dates,
