Cylinder seal impression
A seal with a finely-modelled group showing a bull-man and a nude hero, each holding a rampant bull by the horn and tail.
The forelegs of the bull are engraved to make it appear as if they touched the top of a stylized mountain, on which stands a "sacred tree".
It has been thought, sceens of this type may represent Gilgamesh, hero of a series of Sumerian epic tales tales & the famous Assyro-Babylonian Epic of Gilgamesh & Enkidu.
Akkadian 2200B.C. Greenstone.
